Nice quality of sound. Very nice mic. A must have when recording sound from one person talking and stereo is not required. Mic I received looks like a new one but some buyer seems to have opened and returned it to seller.

I am using it with Zoom's H5 recorder which I also love and the noise floor is very low and I like that it is not sending the signal over an unbalanced connection like the Rode VideoMic does.
And, overall, I think the side rejection is better than the VideoMic. Having said that, it is a very bright mic with very little low end, so it sounds rather unnatural. It's almost like hearing my voice through a phone speaker.
Considering that the VideoMic is nearly the exact same price, I'd still suggest getting the VideoMic. Love this mic. Report abuse. I'm struggling to get much low end response from this mic. The focus is great, but I wonder if I should have shopped around a bit more and done more homework to know exactly the frequency response.
I first used this mic in the middle of a crowded room to record live music. The directionality is so tight that you can hardly hear the audience through the whole recording.
